Those Eyes! - _TNY_1163

I *really* like bee and wasp eyes which are spotted. Butterfly eyes are often spotted as well, but those look more matte. On bees like this female European wool carder bee (Anthidium manicatum) they look like they are spotted inside an eye made of glass.

This little lady is busy finding some nectar on a flower on the house leek (Sempervivum tectorum) in my mother-in-law's garden.

For an entire album (almost 60 shots at the time of posting this) with shots of this very cute bee, please have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/albums/72157667862870066
