Jewel in my Hand - _TNY_0033

I came across some beautiful demoiselles (Calopteryx virgo) in Tyresta National Park in mid-July and they truly only had eyes for each other!

I stood by the small creek in the middle of where they were fluttering around and got loads of nice photos.

At one point, a small group of German visitors walked by on the path a bit from me and said "Hello" before asking me what I was doing.

So I just put out my hand and said "This" and wouldn't you believe it, a demoiselle almost immediately came and landed in my hand. Perfect timing!

The Germans looked mightily impressed and I proceeded to take this photo of my new little friend.
