April Marmalade, Pt. 2 - _TNY_0349
A female marmalade hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) on a rare not-cold day in April. This species comes is a couple of colour forms with different patterns on the abdomen and this one with light and dark
I'm still absolutely delighted by the additional detail offered by the more than double megapixels of the new camera. This is a full, uncropped 50 megapixel shot so it is entirely possible to zoom in on just the fly and see lots of detail even if it makes up just a small portion of the full shot.

Same hoverfly in this shot, but closer and showing more eye detail: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51156778370/
and even more here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51708664908/
