The malachite (Siproeta stelenes) is a butterfly named from how the colour of it resembles the green mineral malachite - which in turn is named after the green leaves of the mallow (Malva).
When you look at it like this with light shinging through the wings, the referencing of green doesn't make much sense, but when you see the dorsal side without backlight, like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52442054115/, it becomes more understandable.
