Giant Moth, Pt. 2 - _TNY_1020

This is another shot from a visit to "my" butterfly house (Haga Ocean in Solna, Sweden). Weather was a bit poor which typically means less activity on the butterflies' part. Ironically, you should visit when the weather is great.

Unfortunately this turned out to pretty accurate as there definitely was less activity - but I was pleased to find a couple of Lorquin's cobra moths (Attacus lorquinii) and one of them - this female which was the largest of them - was resting on a leaf and not on the coccoons like the others which makes for a much nicer background here.

This is a female as we can see on the smaller antennae. Compare them to those on this male of the cloesly related Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) - which is from an earlier visit, but it sits on the coccoons like mentioned above: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52374234336/
