Black is a Great Yellow, Pt. 2 - _TNY_1348

The dorsal side of a male Asian swallowtail (Papilio lowii), also known as the great yellow mormon which I saw fluttering around in the Haga Ocean butterfly house in Solna, Sweden before finally settling on a leaf.

If you're wondering how a black and white butterfly with red and orange accents gets the name "great yellow mormon" - it's because the female has a different colour scheme with more yellow in it. Hopefully I can come across one of those as well eventually and show you.

Part one shows the underside of the very same butterfly here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52474325994/
