Half the Hop - _TNY_1204

A common field grasshopper (Chorthippus brunneus) from Oxnö klippbad on the Gålö peninsula which has lost one of its hind legs.

 

It was walking around, but I suspect it would have had some difficult making long jumps with half of the takoff leg power missing.

 

This was in early October so it was quite late in the season for up here so presumably, it had already mated.
