Unimaginative Naming, Pt. 2 - _TNY_9572

I think this moth which I found on the side of the house is a quite pretty one.

 

Whoever gave it its common English name didn't try very hard though. This since it is named the barred yellow (Cidaria fulvata).

 

Really? It's yellow with a brown band so you name it "the yellow"?
