Furry Visitor - _TNY_1298

Yesterday night when I got home from work (at about 02:40 in the morning) it was pretty cold. Not freezing cold, but a typical late October night here with single digit Centigrade temps.

As I put the key in the lock I noticed I had a visitor.

This male feathered thorn (Colotois pennaria) had parked right next to the front door so of course I had to go inside and get the camera.

Since I don't have a pilot light on my camera, getting close with the camera the diffuser covered it and made the viewfinder very dark.

Fortunately for me, those white stalks on the antennae were just barely visible so I moved myself and the camera back and forth until the faint antennae looked the sharpest and took the shot. After a couple of tries, I nailed the focus and got this shot - those antennae look pretty nifty, wouldn't you say?
