Green as a Rock as a Leaf - _TNY_1271
The malachite (Siproeta stelenes) is a butterfly named from how the colour of it resembles the green mineral malachite - which in turn is named after the green leaves of the mallow (Malva).
When you look at the dorsal side of the wings (like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51940388763/) it doesn't seem very fitting as that colour is decidedly more yellow.
When you see the underside like here though, it makes perfect sense, right?
