Non-Predatory - _TNY_1004S3
The Swedish name for the scalloped oak (Crocallis elinguaria) is "rovmätare" where "mätare" means measurer (because of the way the caterpillars "walk"). "Rov" on the other hand has two meanings which causes a bit of confusion.
In this context, it stems from "rova" which means turnip - but it can also mean predator as in meat-eater. I've heard people thinking the name for this one means it is a predatory moth - when it's from the caterpillar having turnips as their host plant.
This is a photo stack made from three exposures using Zerene Stacker for some added depth of field.
