Impossible Waistline - _TNY_9958
The female red-banded sand wasp (Ammophila sabulosa) is one of the hunting wasps that feed their offspring by finding and paralyzing caterpillar which is then buried in a burrow together with its egg and when the larvae hatches, it feeds on the caterpillar.
Looking at this one from the side like this, I have to say that that waist really is insanely narrow and can't help wondering what the advantage of it being so extremely narrow could be.
