Arranging Shots, Pt. 3 - _TNY_6665
Typically I am not a fan of arranging shots. It is much more fun to try and capture animals in situ right where I found them and make the most of that situation.
This one however, which was taken at the Haga Ocean butterfly house in Solna, Sweden, was sitting in the middle of the walking path and risked being trampled by visitors, so I held a small twig in front of it and when it climbed on I managed to transfer it to this vine hanging at about eye level.
The species is called the scarlet peacock (Anartia amathea) and since this is a female, the main colour on the dorsal side of the wings is more orange than scarlet red.
Using a tripod, I could combat the relatively low light and also shoot it at a couple of different distances since it stayed put.
This is the furthest away distance, and the middle distance can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52015094276/. The closest framing is here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52117296583/
For an album with all the shots I've taken at the Haga Ocean butterfly house, please have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/albums/72157708178863605
