Pollen Muncher - _TNY_9115

Here's a cute and fuzzy bee beetle (Trichius fasciatus) gorging itself on pollen on a fireweed (Chamerion angustifolium) which was growing along a small forest road outside Härnösand, Sweden.

 

This was a rather crowded flower, other beetles were climbing there and some flies and a goldenrod crab spider was right next to this one eating a fly. For a shot of the spider and fly, have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52283341843/
