Extra High Resolution - _TNY_0646P2
I currently use a Canon 5Ds to take photos. This is the one with a fullframe sensor with a *very* high resolution - 8688x5792. Canon calls this "50.6 Megapixel" for some reason, but if I multiply the width and height, I end up with 50.3 Megapixel. Either way, this is very high res and offers me some extra reach compared to the 22.3 megapixel of my previous camera.
This shot of a red admiral (Vanessa atalanta) was taken using the 5Ds - but the resolution is actually 9383x6255 - almost 59 megapixel.
The answer to how that happened is that I took two shots of the butterfly with a slightly different framing - without it moving, so I blended the two overlapping shots in Photoshop and then added in some of the out of focus background that was missing in two of the corners.
Have fun zooming in!
