Look at the Eyes - _TNY_0662

The European garden spider (Araneus diadematus), also known as the cross orb-weaver, diadem spider, crowned orb-weaver and several other names, is built for a life in its web.

This means it can rely on the web for information about prey and there is no need for excellent vision. This has led to these spiders (as well as other orb-weavers) having very small eyes with very limited eyesight.

For this shot of a female A. diadematus however, I managed to completely nail the focus on the eyes. Do zoom in and you'll see that you can actually see the reflection of the diffusor in the minute eyes.
