Pink Beauty, Other Side - _TNY_6492

Clinging to the end of a long thin leaf hangning just ~60 cm / 2' above the floor this Lebeau's rothschildia (Rothschildia lebeau) was a very convenient moth to photograph at the Haga Ocean butterfly house in Solna, Sweden.

Not only because of the height, but also because it didn't move (being a nocturnal moth means they obviously stay as still as possible during the day).

This is a quite spectacular species with a surprisingly chubby body and beautiful silver "windows" on the wings. Do zoom in on the face - there is some wonderful detail with the hairs there.
