Party Lights - _TNY_9918

This caterpillar is hopefully going to get to grow up into an adult knot grass moth (Acronicta rumicis). I found it on the underside of a leaf of an elephant-eared saxifrage (Bergenia crassifolia).

 

That wavy red and white line along the side of it makes me think of the way sometimes ships put coloured lights on the side.
