Preying on Predators - _TNY_7942

A common stretch spider (Tetragnatha extensa) which had made it's web between the reeds just above the water got lucky - and the unlucky one in this equation is a male spearhead bluet (Coenagrion hastulatum).

 

I took this while out in the water wearing waders so it was a bit tricky getting low enough to get a decent framing without dipping the camera into the water.
