Antennae or Fuses? - _TNY_6411

Here is a cute little butterfly from the Haga Ocean butterfly house in Solna, Sweden. It is known as the common tiger (Mechanitis polymnia). These guys are poisonous so they warn potential predator with a distinct pattern, but of course there are other species which mimic it to piggyback on the deterrence.

 

Looking at the way the antennae look, I immediately think of a lit fuse, burning its way down to the butterfly's head.
