Hanging from the row of chrysalides, this Emerald swallowtail (Papilio palinurus) at the Haga Ocean butterfly house is still waiting for its wings to harden enough for it to begin its adult life on the wing.
I sort of botched the focus on this (handheld in natural light with the camera outstretched) shot, but it is such a spectacular species that I figure it was worth posting anyway.
