A Hint of Blue - _TNY_6643
A bit further away than my typical shots, but I still like this Peleides blue morpho (Morpho peleides) on a large leaf of some sort of Colocasia or Alocasia at the Haga Ocean Butterfly House in Solna, Sweden.
The way it has opened the wings ever so slightly to give a subtle hint of the blue dorsal side of the wings is very nice - and complimented by the blue eyes of course.
This is a great example of where the massive (50.6 megapixel) resolution of my Canon 5Ds comes in handy. Even though this was a bit away and there is plenty of the surrounding background in frame, it is still possible to zoom in and see quite a lot of detail on the butterfly itself.
