A green tiger beetle (Cicindela campestris), I think it is a male, in a brief moment of not zipping around like he is on crack in the sunshine right next to the gravel parking lot at the main entrance to Tyresta National Park, just south of Stockholm, Sweden.
This was definitely the day to come there and shoot these guys. I'm not joking when I say I saw a hundred of these, both on the gravel and on the edge of the forest. Some were just running around, some where mating (like so: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52066752999/) and I even spotted a female in the process of laying eggs (Serious closeups of here coming later).
