Super Blue - TNY_2294

A nice and fresh specimen of the Peleides blue morpho (Morpho peleides) resting with it's wings open.

 

From what I understand, this is common for females who want to bring attention to herself for males to find her.

 

This was shot locally at a butterfly house, but in the wild, they live in Central and South America.
