Unusual Butterfly Angle - _TNY_6777
This European peacock (Aglais io) chose to land right i front of me on the gravel road so I decided to try a bit of an unusual angle.
Getting on my stomach, I inched closer and closer and just as I was getting its head in focus, it not only did not fly away, butopened the wings like this!
Do zoom in on the eyes and you'll see how incredibly hairy they are. I don't know why they are like this - perhaps it helps the eyes not getting cold or something?
