The World's Prettiest Earring, Pt. 2 - - _TNY_7213
So I was in Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park together with my son for a day of finding insects.
Weather was great and we spot a couple of southern hawkers (Aeshna cyanea), a rather large species of dragonfly which don't really land that much which obviously makes it difficult to photograph.
Well, it was worth a shot to see if we could trick one into landing on Daniel's hand when we saw another one so he stood still with his arm outstretched while the dragon flew around us.
But that hand wasn't good enough for this one so he (it's a young male) decided to go for the ear!
Daniel was just as excited as I and froze completely while I tried to get as close as possible as fast as possible while being as discreet and unintimidating as possible. Worked a charm!
Looking at the shots afterwards, I think these really look magnificient!
