My first thought when I saw one of these was "candy mosquito" and I still think that is a pretty apt description.
There are several almost identical-looking species, but I believe this could be a dark-winged fungus gnat (Sciara hemerobioides). As the name implies, they are interested in fungii and not in sucking my blood so having this one walk on my knuckle was no problem.
What is not showing in this particular shot is how nice the wings look. As the name implies, they are dark, almost black with a gorgeous metallic shimmer which is annoyingly hard to capture in a photo.
