Red Room Panorama - _TNY_4858P3

Here's another one of those rare macro panorama shots I've managed.

This looks a bit like moths, but it is instead a pair of caddisflies in the Agrypnia genus - busy doing their thing to secure the next generation on the side of my mom's summer house in Värmdö, Sweden.

I had the MP-E65mm lens on the camera at the moment, a lens which cannot focus at *less* than 1:1 magnification so the only way I could shoot this was in three parts. One per caddisfly and then one more in the middle.

I then loaded all three shots into Kolor Autopano Giga, a program which stitches together panorama landscape shots and it managed to piece my three shots together into a panorama quite nicely (though I had to mess around a bit more with it in Photoshop as well).

Since each of the three shots was 50 megapixel, I ended up with a finished shot at 14000x6000 pixels - ie 84 megapixel.

Here's another stitched MP-E65mm macro shot - though that one was done manually using just Photoshop: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50199878127/
