Eighteen Spotted Fenderbender - _TNY_3889
I've realised that many seem to think that there is just a single species of ladybird (or ladybug if you're in North America) and that all are red with seven black spots.
The fact is that there are over 3500 species all over the world - and about sixty of them in Sweden. I've gathered all ladybird/-bug shots I've taken in an album here:
This particular one doesn't have a vernacular English name, but typically they are given names describing the number of spots so this one, a Myrrha octodecimguttata, would be called the eighteen-spot ladybird.
The little buddy in my shot here appear to have been in some sort of accident on account of there being a large dent in the elytra.
