Pretty and Pretty Common - _TNY_3478

The male common bluet (Enallagma cyathigerum) really deserves that name. Both because they are almost impossibly blue, but also because they really are quite common.

 

Shooting them isn't always easy, but that doesn't mean they aren't there, patrolling between the blades of grass in search of some tiny insect to catch and devour.

 

Do take the time to zoom in on the eyes on this one. The detail on them came out great.
