The Blue Pill - _TNY_5015S2

A female alder leaf beetle (Agelastica alni) on a leaf in Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park.

This one sat still so I took a second shot and then combined them using Zerene Stacker.

This species feed on leaves on alder which result in this type of holes in the leaves which, even if they look bad, normally doesn't hurt the trees.

For a shot from the same trip of a male and a female in the process of producing more little beetles, have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50686827388/
