Even though it looks like a shield bug, the dock bug (Coreus marginatus) isn't one. It still belongs to the infra order Pentatomomorpha just like shield bugs, and just like them, they can emit a foul-smelling liquid to deter predators.
If you look on the side of it, between the second and third pari of legs, you can see an opening, looking almost like a missing leg. This is the vent used to distribute that liquid.
