Elongated and Metallic, Pt. 2 - _TNY_5990

This beauty munching pollen on a woodland geranium (Geranium sylvaticum) is one of the false blister beetles named Oedemera virescens.

 

These are actually really easy to sex as the males (like the one here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/48801739857/) have swollen thighs while females like the one in this shot doesn't.
