Look at the head of this female 22-spot ladybird (Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata). Notice how the front end of the pronotum (the "middle carapace part") is actually transparent so it can see through it with the head retracted like this. No idea about the benefits of this, but it still looks awfully cool with transparent carapace parts, right?
Apart from that, this is a very small species, like 4 mm long or so, and actually vegetarian - it likes to eat milldew rather than the typical ladybird diet of aphids.
