Tasty Thistle, Pt. 3 - _TNY_4966
Apparently thistles, albeit a bit prickly to us, are very tasty to butterflies. This Essex skipper (Thymelicus lineola), also known as the European skipper in North America, was adamant about finishing lunch on this particular thistle and allowed me to get several close shots of it.
Quite a nice colour combination with the orange and purple as well, right?
