Red Eyes, Yellow World, Pt. 2 - _TNY_4996

This hoverfly against the sea of yellow that is a dandelion (Taraxacum sect. ruderalia) is a male chequered hoverfly (Melanostoma scalare), also known as the slender Melanostoma.

 

Using the MP-E65 at 2.0:1 mag here meant I got some nice detail on those beautiful compounbd eyes.
