Obstacle Course and Photographer - _TNY_3516

When you're small enough, even the hairs on my hand become obstacles that take an effort to navigate - as this male 22-spot ladybird (Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata) found out.

This is one of only a few shots of males that I've managed so far so I am happy about it. Unlike most other ladybirds, the males are easy to tell apart from the females by their paler, almost white, pronotum instead of going with the same yellow colour all over.

For a shot of the female, please have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/49939464937/
