Tire Guardian, Pt. 2 - _TNY_5826

To save space at home, I keep my winter tires (and summer tires in the winter) in the cold cellar at my mom's summer house. Since temps are dropping here in November, it was time to go out there and make the switch so I did on November 2nd.

When lifting out the winter tires, I saw a small spider running across it so of course I had to stop and go fetch the camera.

This one is one of the sac spiders, Clubiona, but as there are several very similar species to choose between I can't figure out the exact species without killing the spider and pick it apart to look at the epigyne.

Obviously, a species ID isn't that important for just a photographer like me, so after taking a couple of photos (this at 3:1 magnification) I let it go where the tires used to be and we'll have to settle for Clubiona sp. Pretty sure the spider didn't mind this solution either.

Zooming in on this one, we can see that the entire spider is covered in a fine peach fuzz - looks very soft.

Part 1 is a portrait shot at 3.3:1 showing that face a little closer here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51662568019/
