Identified Black Male - _TNY_4274

The black darter (Sympetrum danae) is a quite common dragonfly in Sweden - and actually the smallest species as well.

 

It is only the males which bear the black colour - the females have a similar yellowish tone shared with most Sympetrum species here.

 

This one found a fern to land on for a short break before darting off again.
