Soft Brown Eyes - _TNY_5131

Many dragonflies and damselflies have very colourful eyes, but I particularily like the ones on the common winter damselfly (Sympecma fusca) - even though they are either brown or grey. It's something about the shine which makes 'em look like glass pearls or something.

 

This one posed quite willingly long enough for me to snap a shot or two before darting away again.
