Black and Bronze - _TNY_0517

Time for some name-comparing again! Here is a male buffish mining bee (Andrena nigroaenea) resting on a petal on a pansy (Viola × wittrockiana).

The scientific "nigroaenea" would translate into something like "black and bronze", but whoever gave it its Swedish common name thought it more gold than bronze so it is known as "gyllensandbi" - Golden sand bee (sandbi = mining bee) here.

Regardless, this is a rather fetching bee, don't you think?
