Spring Clean-Up Crew - _TNY_8009

After a long dark Swedish winter, ants are fairly quick to get out and about and this of course means foraging for food for the colony.

 

This one, a red wood ant (Formica rufa), had found the remains of some sort of shield bug (minus the head and some of the legs) and was dragging it back to the colony.
