Post-Rescue Protocol - _TNY_5392

I found this female ruddy darter (Sympetrum sanguineum) helplessly paddling around in the water of the Nedre Dammen pond at Åva-Stensjödal in late August.

With here wings in the water, she was unable to get out of it before I picked her up an put her on a tree stump.

This initiated a rather lengthy drying process - which I of course took the opportunity to photograph.

I even had time to shoot a short video or two of her getting ready. You can find one of them here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51640927777/
