Baby Caterpillar - _TNY_4073
When I was climbing around by the small dam next to the old mill ruin at Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park I found a large caterpillar from the rusty tussock moth on a leaf next to the little waterfall there. It's a *very* fuzzy character but stayed perfectly still for me and I got some nice shots (like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51554293086/).
For some reason I turned the leaf next to that one over and there I found this little guy. My mind got stuck on the tussock moth caterpillar so I immediately assumed it was an earlier instar of the same species, but when getting home and processing the photo, I realised this instead is an early instar of the knot grass moth (Acronicta rumicis).
For shots of what it will look like after growing a bit, have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50763539726/
