A Cute Bee Guy. Pt. 2 - _TNY_7048
Crawling around at Havtornsudd point on the Gålö peninsula in Stockholm's inner archipelago, I came across this male leaf-cutting cuckoo bee (Coelioxys sp.), also known as a sharp-tailed bee.
These are kleptoparasites and lay their eggs in the burrows of other solitary bee species and the larvae then kill the host larvae and feed on the pollen provisions left by the host.
