Found High Up - _TNY_4881S3

The by far most common jumping spider I come across is the zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) which is quite fond of hunting on the walls of my house.

At first, this one, which I found while high up on a ladder on the gable of my mom's summer house when painting, might look like another one of those, but it isn't. Instead it is the closely related narrow-banded zebra spider (Salticus cingulatus) - a species which I much more seldom come across.

Fortunately for me, I had a small plastic container in my pocket so I managed to catch the little girl and she had to stay there until I finished painting.

After that I let her out on a rock with some nice moss which became a nicely contrasting backdrop to her snow white setae.

Also, she was quite cool with me photographing so this shot is three exposures (at 3.7:1 magnification) which I have combined into a single image using Zerene Stacker.
