Chocolate - _TNY_3937

This beauty on a thistle at Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park is a male Arran brown (Erebia ligea).

 

I wanted to get a close-up on that face and the big brown eyes, but he wasn't interested and took off right after I snapped this shot.

 

The original shot was a little lower so the very top of the wings were out of frame which looked a bit wrong so I reframed it in Photoshop and added in the missing wingtip there.
