Another Hidden Killer - _TNY_3888

She's not making it easy for us to see what she is eating, but I am thinking this female goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) in full yellow mode (they can change colour) is snacking on a young earwig (Dermaptera sp.). It's rather small there in front of her so you might have to zoom in a bit to see it (it's orange).

The hiding place here might look like a dandelion, but is one of the hawkweed species (Hieracium).

The yellow crab spiders were having a ball that day. Just the minute before I found this one, there was another, equally yellow, Misumena vatia on another hawkweed enjoying *her* catch here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51340047179/
