Proper Camouflage - _TNY_4401

My mother-in-law lives in Härnösand, Sweden which is about as far north as Anchorage, Alaska. Obviously this means harsh winters, but after every winter, there is spring - just a little later than down south.

We visited there on May tenth which for most of us means spring, bordering on summer. Well, up there there was still some snow on the ground and pretty far from ideal condition for finding inverts to photograph.

This Pardosa wolf spider was one of the few out and about in spite of the temps.

The brown paintjob served as excellent camouflage and several times when it stopped, I completely lost sight of it.

(Pardosa sp.)
