Like a Jewel - _TNY_3650

Here is a male common spreadwing (Lestes sponsa), also known as the emerald damselfly. looking all spectacular and shiny for the camera.

 

For some reason, I've had very little success finding these guys, only a couple last year and none before that - but this year I've seen loads! Not everyone agrees to being photographed of course, but just seeing so many has been great.
